5-Star Reviews for Mare in April

Here at Mare Oyster Bar, we take pride in giving you excellent customer service and dining experience whenever you visit us. Here are a couple of reviews from our customers in the past month! Read more of them below.

Great food. GREAT. Very fresh seafood, modern sleek restaurant tucked away off of Hanover. Usually a wait after you check in for your reservation, but its okay, its worth it. A bit on the pricey side, but you know the quality will be there, otherwise they wouldn’t be where they are at. Mare is a blend of modern and traditional Italian plates and heavy on the fish, just as they should be. Its all fresh, delicious and memorable. Drinks are great as well. Tables are a bit snug and you can hear conversations next to you but its the North End, little Italy, its what you should expect. Setting is interesting with their half indoor half tarped outdoor right next to the tunnel, both rooms stay fairly warm and comfortable (even in January). We like to come here every other month. Crusted and slightly seared tuna is special, whole sea bass (Branzino) is as fresh as can be and delicious (can be filleted if you don’t like to work for your food). Just go here, but don’t go too often because I will get jealous.

Wonderful food, great service. Adolfo was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Only minor thing was that we called to confirm that we could bring in our own birthday cake ahead of time and they failed to mention the $5 per person cake cutting fee until we showed up. Minor issue though. Would absolutely come again.

Food and service on point. We got the oysters and pasta dishes and everything tasted great. Would be a good place for special occasions too.

I have been coming to Boston for many years now, first time eating at Mare. I went with my fiancee on a Sunday night. It is down an alley out of the way. We were greated by the host right away and seated. The place was quiet but not empty. We sat on the edge of the indoor dining room and fire pit area, next to a large group but did not even notice their presence.

Their oyster selection was about 12 different varieties, all sourced rather locally and very fresh. The waiter was inexperienced but very polite and attentive. Both of us enjoyed to experience with drinks our bill came out to 160 with tip.
